Rakennuttajatoimisto HTJ Ltd has been appointed as an official BREEAM-certifier

Itella Real Estate Ltd and Rakennuttajatoimisto HTJ Ltd have signed a contract for project management and site supervision of the new technology logistics centre to be build in Pennala, Orimattila. The project is abt. 79 000 m2 and the construction works have been started. The new logistics centre will be built next to Itella’s existing service store. The newest store and heating technology will be utilised in the project. For example in heating and cooling the geothermal heating will be used. After this extension Itella will have in Pennala more than 100 000 m2 of store area. The owner of the project is Itella Real Estate Ltd and the actual user will be Itella Logistics Ltd, who has as a client among others centre stores of Rautakesko Ltd. The construction works will be completed in phases during 2013 so that the last part will be completed in summer 2013. The project will be managed by HTJ’s Hämeenlinna office.

Housing co-op Helsinki Riontähti (“Star of Rio”) and HTJ have signed a contract for the project management and site supervision of a new housing project to be built in Jätkäsaari, Helsinki. The owner of the project is Nordea Life Insurance Ltd which is a notable investor. The contractor will be NCC Rakennus Ltd with turn key- contract. The project size is abt. 4 000 m2 and it will have 42 apartments.

Niab Finland Ltd owns in the centre of Kerava a retail building called Aleksintori, where the design of a renovation project has been started. HTJ will be responsible for the project management and site supervision of the project. The size of the building is abt. 13 000 m2. The construction works will start in spring 2012.

The dormitory building owned by Tiedepuiston Asunnot Ltd (The University of Helsinki) will be completely renovated. The project consist of more than 250 apartments in a building originally build in 1868 and of a new extension of more than 1 500 m2. A new alliance contract method will be used, this method has originally been developed in Australia. In the alliance the client, main contractor, main designer and some other significant project parties will sign an alliance contract. The whole text of the contract will be written using pronoun “us”. The alliance will define the goals and plans for the project as well as schedule and cost target. The implementation will be measured and if the goals are reached all alliance parties will get bonus. It is worth noticing that if for example cost target will be exceeded, all alliance partners are jointly responsible for it.

HTJ acts as the project managing consultant for TS-Group Ltd in a full renovation project of a printing press building in Vantaa. HTJ will be responsible of the site supervision as well in this project. The building was originally build in 1980’s and its size is abt. 12 000 m2.

THE CORNER STONE CEREMONY OF CAN-PACK S.A.’S CAN FACTORY

The Polish company Can-Pack Ltd will have a new beverage can factory build. The corner stone ceremony of the project took place on 09.08.2011. The size of the project is 15 400 m2 and the yearly production capacity will be 900 million cans. HTJ is responsible of project management and site supervision. The can production in the factory will start early March 2013.

THE NEW BUILDING FOR THE FPD (Finnish Association of People with Physical Disabilities) JÄRVENPÄÄ TRAINING CENTRE WAS COMPLETED

FPD’s training centre in Järvenpää called “Kuntola” was completed on 31.05.2011. This educational building has two storeys and its floor area is 3 894 m2 and volume

ETOLA CORP’S LOGISTICS CENTRE COMPLETED

Etola Ltd’s new logistic centre is completed and taken into use in the end of April in Moreeni industrial area in Hämeenlinna. Etra Ltd centralises the main storing of their industrial goods in to this new head store, the size of which is 20 000 m2 and which is located on the southern side of Hämeenlinna on a 11 hectares lot close to highway no 3.

MECHELININKATU 18 WAS COMPLETED

The renovation of apartment building Mechelininkatu 18, owned by Varma Mutual Pension
Insurance Company, was completed in the beginning of April 2011. The project was abt. 4000 m2, the building has 7 storeys and 55 apartments. Two new apartments were built in the attic, altogether abt. 250 sqm.

As a Site Supervisor B.Sc. (Civ.Eng.) Mr Harri Saarinen. Harri joined us from Rakennusliike Sierak Ltd.

As a Project Engineer M.Sc. (Civ.Eng.) Mr Kari Aitto-oja. Kari worked earlier for Pöyry CM Ltd.

As a Site Supervisor B.Sc. (Civ.Eng.) Mr Kari Hyvärinen. Kari joined us from Rakennuttajatoimisto Valvontakonsultit Ltd.

As a Development Manager B.Sc. (Civ.Eng.) Ms Satu Hintsanen. Satu joined us from Pöyry CM Ltd.

In Hämeenlinna office:

As an Office Secretary Ms. Tuula Viitanen, she has a Vocational Qualification in Business and Administration. Tuula joined us from Technology Centre Innopark Ltd.

The total amount of our staff is now 54, growth during this year has been more than ten persons.

NOMINATIONS

B.Sc (Civ.Eng.) Mr Henri Jyrkkäranta has been appointed as a Project Manager. Earlier he worked in HTJ as a Project Engineer.
